Saab
Saab has always been a leader in innovations and technology and is developing the world’s first hybrid convertible, which is a soft top edition of the 9-3 BioPower Hybrid Concept. It runs on a combination of bioethanol fuel and electricity. It has a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder engine.

The engine is modified to run on pure E100 bioethanol fuel. This fuel produces zero carbon dioxide emission. In tandem with the electric motor the powertrain has stop and start capability. It will also have an electric only mode for city driving. It will come with an automatic transmission and achieves zero to sixty miles per hour in less than 6.9 seconds.

The Saab hybrid drivetrain is significantly different from the Toyota system because it has two electric motors. It will have a 14 kilowatt motor integrated into the front drive powertrain and a second one driving the rear wheels. Saab is always looking toward the future.
